An American cinematographer, who also served as AMPAS president from 2017 to 2019 and was one of its governors, representing the cinematographer branch, for 14 years. Among his 80-plus credits were American Gigolo (both 1980), The Big Chill (1983), Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, (1985), The Accidental Tourist (1988), As Good as it Gets (1997), Groundhog Day and In the Line of Fire (both 1993).
