An American animator best known for co-creating Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! (1969-1970), Ruby and Ken Spears wrote the first five episodes and supervised the rest of the series. He began his career at Walt Disney Productions before joining Hanna-Barbera in 1959 to work on shows including The Flintstones (1960-1963) and The Yogi Bear Show (1961).
