8 June 1933 to 4 September 2014

An American comedian known for her cutting humour and acerbic style in a career spanning seven decades, Rivers found fame in the 1960s performing on late night talk shows and became Johnny Carson’s regular guest host before launching her own ill-fated show on Fox, The Late Show (1986-1987).
