A British actress, who starred consistently on British television through the 1950s to 1970s, before taking a hiatus and returning to television in the 2000s. She had made her screen debut in Marie Tussaud (1955), but really come to prominence as Kate Nickleby in the serial adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby (1957). She will perhaps be best remembered for her role as Jennifer Kingsley in seven seasons of Brothers (1972-1976), but she also appeared in Z Cars (1962-1972), Compact (1965), A Man of our Times (1968), Special Branch (1969) and, most recently, Doctors (2003-2015).
