A British actress best known for her role as cafe owner Ivy on Last of the Summer Wine (1973-2010), Freeman formed a fierce, bickering double act with John Comer (who portrayed Ivy’s husband, Sid), before he passed away in 1984. She won the role after impressing in The Fishing Party (1972), directed by her husband Michael Simpson.
