Grange Calveley

Writer
6 May 1943 to 22 August 2021

A British writer, who was the creative mind behind children’s favourite Roobarb (1974). While only 30 episodes strong, this animated series, narrated by Richard Briers and with the catchiest of theme tunes, ran on repeat on the BBC and around the world for decades. It was briefly revived in 2005 under the title Roobarb & Custard Too, with Calveley writing nine of the 39 episodes. He also co-created Noah and Nelly in... Skylark (1976), writing eight of its episodes.
