Familiar to modern audiences for playing the elderly Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic (1997), Stuart had begun her acting career over 60 years before. In this first flush of success she starred in The Old Dark House (1932), Air Mail (1932), The Invisible Man (1933) and The Three Musketeers (1939).
