An American writer and producer who regularly wrote with her husband Willard Huyck, Katz famously provided crucial script-doctoring work on Star Wars (1977). She collaborated with George Lucas further on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Howard: A New Breed of Hero (1986), having previously received an Oscar nomination for her screenplay for American Graffiti (1973).
