Gerald Hirschfeld

Cinematographer
25 April 1921 to 13 February 2017

An American cinematographer who was self-taught before honing his craft while serving in the Army during World War II, Hirschfeld quickly became one of New York’s busiest cameramen. He notably worked with Sidney Lumet on Fail-Safe (1964) and Child’s Play (1972), and also shot Young Frankenstein (1974).
