A British TV cameraman whose career spanned from the early 1950s to the late 1980s, Hughes captured a number of historic events throughout his career while working for Southern TV, TVS and Meridian TV, where he was appointed Head of Outside Broadcast Planning. He was notably one of the first cameramen on the scene of the 1984 Brighton hotel bombing.
