A prolific British actor who was known for a trio of successful sitcoms, Palmer starred in The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (1976-1979), Butterflies (1978-1983) and As Time Goes By (1992-2005). He enjoyed supporting roles in films including O Lucky Man! (1973), A Fish Called Wanda (1988) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997).
