Gayle Hunnicutt

An American actress, who had a successful career on both sides of the Atlantic. Gayle Hunnicutt is perhaps best known latterly for her role as Vanessa Beaumont on US soap Dallas (1989-1991), but her career started decades earlier with debuts in an episode of Mister Roberts and the Roger Corman film The Wild Angels (both 1966). Other notable roles at this stage of her career included P.J. (1967), Eye of the Cat and Marlowe (both 1969). A move to the UK saw her land leading roles in two high-profile British series, The Golden Bowl (1972) and Fall of Eagles (1974), with further credits for the films Fragment of Fear (1970), Running Scared (1972), Scorpio (1973) and Target (1985) and such television series as Return of the Saint (1979), Fantômas (1980), The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1984) and A Woman of Substance (1985). Her final credit was in an episode of CI5: The New Professionals (1999).
