A British presenter who joined the BBC in 1963 as a local football reporter, Bough rose through the ranks quickly and was selected to front Grandstand (1967-1982). His eclectic career saw him also present political, breakfast, holiday and news programming, and he received the Richard Dimbleby Award for Best Presenter from BAFTA in 1977.
