Edward R Pressman

An American film producer, who put a lot of faith in emerging filmmakers and directors still forging their careers. This included the likes of Brian De Palma with Sisters (1972), Terrence Malick’s Badlands (1973), Sylvester Stallone’s Paradise Alley (1978), Oliver Stone’s The Hand (1981), Sam Raimi’s Crimewave (1985), Kathryn Bigelow’s Blue Steel (1990), Alex Proyas’ The Crow (1994) and Jason Reitman’s Thank You for Smoking (2005). Ed Pressman would work with many of them multiple times. Other big hitters in an impressive career included Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer (1982, 1984), Wall Street (1987), Talk Radio (1988), Bad Lieutenant, Hoffa (both 1992), American Psycho (2000), The Cooler (2003) and Amazing Grace (2006). He was nominated for an Emmy as an executive producer of Paterno (2018).
