Don Hewitt

American television newsman Hewitt helped bring 60 Minutes to the screen in 1968, remaining with the programme for 36 years. Other highlights in his career include directing Edward R. Murrow’s See It Now and Person To Person (both 1950) and the pivotal Kennedy-Nixon television debate during the 1960 Presidential election.
