A British television director who began his screen career as an assistant floor manager at the BBC, Lawrence’s credits include Emma (1996), Messiah (2001) and Little Dorrit (2008). He received BAFTA nominations for his work on Grange Hill (1982), A Breed of Heroes (1994) and The Hanging Gale (1995), and won for Anglo Saxon Attitudes (1992).
