Desmond Davis

A British director, who started out as a clapper boy in the 1940s, before moving up to focus puller and camera operator, working on such classics as The African Queen (1951), A Taste of Honey (1961) and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962). Davis made his directorial debut with Girl with Green Eyes (1964), but perhaps his best known work as director is Clash of the Titans (1981). He was BAFTA nominated for television feature The Country Girls (1983).
