A British actor who will be remembered by many for his starring roles on The Sweeney (1974-1978), Minder (1979-1989), for which he also sang the theme tune, and New Tricks (2003-2015). Waterman cut his teeth on the stage, as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and landed a few film roles before finding fame on the small screen. Other series he starred in included The Life and Loves of a She-Devil (1986), Stay Lucky (1989-1993) and On the Up (1990-1992).
