David Ward

A British games executive, who was the co-founder of Ocean Software, one of the biggest publishers of games in the formative years of the industry. Ward and Jon Woods set up Spectrum Games in 1983, which soon became Ocean, releasing such hits as Daley Thompson’s Decathlon and Match Day (both 1984). But it was through licensing film properties that Ocean became best known, including such film tie-ins as Rambo (1985), Batman (1986) and RoboCop (1988). Ward and Woods were inducted into the ELSPA (now Ukie) Hall of Fame In 2004.
