A British actor best known for his role as Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy (1977-1983), Prowse provided the villain his distinctive physical presence while James Earl Jones famously dubbed over his West Country accent. He was equally proud of his role as the Green Cross Man in a popular series of road safety commercials.
