David Jacobs

An American writer, who is best known for creating the popular US soap Dallas (1978-1991) and spin-off series Knots Landing (1979-1993), the latter also serving as executive producer. David Jacobs first found work in the screen industry as a story editor for Lorimar Productions, working on such shows as The Blue Knight (1975-1976) and Family (1977-1978). For Lorimar, he then created Dallas, which was at one time one of the most watched shows on television. He went on to create Secrets of Midland Heights (1980-1981), Paradise (1988-1991) and Four Corners (1998). As executive producer, he worked on such series as Berringer’s (1985), Homefront (1991-1993) and the first season of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993).
