An American actor who began his career as a stunt performer and animal trainer, Taggerty was and best known for his lead role in film and TV series The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams (1974, 1977-1978). He was instantly recognisable by his big bushy beard and regularly player animal-loving roles similar to that of ‘Grizzly’.
