Charles Knode

A British costume designer, who won two BAFTAs, for Blade Runner (1982, with Michael Kaplan) and Braveheart (1995). Charles Knode was also nominated for Legend (1985) and won an Emmy for Alice in Wonderland (1999), among four other Emmy nominations (War & Peace, 1972; Snow White: A Tale of Terror, 1997; Don Quixote, 2000; and Dinotopia, 2002) and an Oscar nomination for Braveheart. He began working in the costume department in the late 1960s, and went on to design costumes for the likes of mini-series Sense and Sensibility (1971), Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975), Jabberwocky (1977), Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1980), Never Say Never Again (1983), 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992), A Christmas Carol (1999) and Don Quixote (2000).
