A British arts critic whose column was a regular fixture of the Evening Standard, Sewell was known for his outspoken, controversial and often withering criticism. His own television documentaries included The Naked Pilgrim: The Road To Santiago (2003), Brian Sewell’s Grand Tour of Italy (2005) and Dirty Dali: A Private View (2007).
