An Italian cinematographer, who had a prolific career, mostly in Italian cinema, from the 1960s to the 2020s. Blasco Giurato was nominated for a BAFTA for his stunning work on Cinema Paradiso (1988), but he largely went unrecognised outside of his home country, where he earned four Italian Golden Globe nominations and a win for A Pure Formality (1994). Notable works included La orca (1976), Il camorrista (1986), Time to Kill (1989), Year of the Gun (1991), Ivo il tardivo, Shadow of a Kiss (both 1995), Il carniere (1997), Vajont (2001), Five Moons Plaza (2003), Passage to Paradise (1998), Octav (2017) and most recently Old Rascals (2022).
