An American graphic designer who created posters for hundreds of Hollywood movies during 70 years in the industry, Gold created the indelible poster for Casablanca (1942) on just his second assignment. His most famous work included Cool Hand Luke (1967), A Clockwork Orange (1971), The Exorcist (1973) and Alien (1979).
