A British playwright who was best known for one iconic piece of work that went straight to the screen, Keefe’s crime thriller The Long Good Friday (1980) became a classic of the genre and earned a BAFTA nod for lead actor Bob Hoskins. His other notable screen credits included No Excuses (1983) and Sus (2010).
