An American producer who began his career in banking law where he specialised in film financing, Kopelson and his wife Anne formed a distribution company in 1982 and found early success with Porky’s (1981). He won the Academy Award for Best Picture for Platoon (1986), and received a further nomination for The Fugitive (1993).
