Anthony Lawrence

A British journalist whose career began at the Wimbledon Advertiser in 1930, Lawrence joined the BBC World Service after serving in the Second World War. He was appointed Far East Correspondent in 1956, a position he held until retiring in 1973, during which time he became one of the BBC’s most influential foreign correspondents.
