Anita Carey

A British actress, who split her time on television between comedy and drama. Early on in her career, Anita Carey was known for her comedy work, including the likes of Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? (1973-1974), One-Upmanship (1974-1976), I Didn’t Know You Cared (1975-1976), Beryl’s Lot (1975-1977) and Ripping Yarns (1977). She took on more dramatic roles, appearing in 75 episodes of Coronation Street in two roles (1978 and 1996-1997) and more than 350 episodes of Doctors (2005-2009). Other notable credits included Z Cars (1971-1972), The History of Mr Polly (1980), The Spoils of War (1980-1981), First Among Equals (1986), A Kind of Living (1990) and Talk to Me (2007). After finishing her role in Doctors, she moved to New York with her husband and continued to act, mostly on the stage. Her final screen credit was for the film The Last Witness (2018).
