An American composer, who is perhaps best known for his collaborations with director David Lynch. This started with Blue Velvet (1986) and ran through to Mulholland Drive (2001), the latter earning Angelo Badalamenti a BAFTA nomination, while his score for Twin Peaks picked up a Grammy and three Emmy nominations. Badalamenti’s other work was extensive, including such films as A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989), The Comfort of Strangers (1990), The City of Lost Children (1995), Arlington Road (1999), The Beach (2000), Secretary, Cabin Fever (both 2002), A Very Long Engagement (2004) and A Late Quartet (2012), among many more. He also wrote songs for the likes of Nina Simone, Shirley Bassey and Nancy Wilson and arrangements for the Pet Shop Boys, Dusty Springfield and Liza Minnelli.
