A British director best known for his Westerns, McLaglen was an assistant director to John Ford on The Quiet Man (1952) and his solo directing credits included McLintock! (1963) and Shenandoah (1965). He directed 96 episodes of Gunsmoke (1956-1965) and 116 episodes of Have Gun - Will Travel (1957-1963) on television.
