An accomplished British actor best known for his iconic roles in Die Hard (1988) and the Harry Potter franchise (2001-2011), Rickman also wrote and directed two features. He received BAFTA nominations for his roles in Truly Madly Deeply (1990), Sense and Sensibility (1995) and Michael Collins (1996), winning for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991).
