A British composer and musician, whose work will be familiar to fans of Grange Hill (1978-1989) and Countdown (1982-), as well as the Cadbury’s Milk Tray television adverts. Other credits include the themes to Dave Allen at Large (1971), The New Statesman (1987-1992) and Napoleon Dynamite (2012), with his music licensed for many more television and film soundtracks. In 1993, he was nominated for a BAFTA for his Original Television Music to Love Hurts (1992). In 1983, he established the Alan Hawkshaw Foundation, supporting underprivileged music students.
