Ana Alpizar

Ana A. Alpizar is a Cuban director, screenwriter, producer, and editor based in New York. Her short film Norheimsund (2025) premiered in the Orizzonti section at La Biennale di Venezia, and her earlier short The Fisherman (2018) screened at Sundance, Miami, NALIP and Rooftop Films, and was awarded and shown at numerous festivals worldwide. Her film Hapi Berdey Yusimi in Yur Dey (2020) was presented at the New Orleans Film Festival and the Brooklyn Film Festival, among others.

Since 2019, she has worked as an editor in film, television, and advertising, completing the feature film Domestic Animals (dir. Juan P. Daranas), as well as several shorts, including Out the Window Through the Wall (dir. Asya Segalovich), which was an Official Selection at Cannes 2024.

Ana is currently an MFA candidate at the Tisch School of the Arts.
