Alice Rohrwacher: Screenwriters’ Lecture
In conversation with... Stacey Dooley
Uriel Juarez was born and raised in Westlake, Los Angeles and is currently attending California Polytechnic State University, Pomona. He said: “I hope to meet new people through this program. I also want to get more involved because there are many diverse people with experiences in different fields that I can meet through this program.”
Since he was a child, Uriel had had an interest in movies and animation. During Covid, he began making YouTube videos with his friends around playing video games where he was able to develop editing skills such as trimming, transitions, and visual effects. With this knowledge, he was able to collaborate and create a video in his senior year for his Media & Graphic Design class. The video was about Section 8 and how it can be improved.
“I hope to be able to work in a professional setting, gaining experience and meeting new people. I hope to become knowledgeable about different topics being discussed around the world and getting involved in my community”, he said.
