Sydney Martinez is a student filmmaker studying at Los Angeles Mission College with a passion and dream to one day become a producer for television and film. She said: “The Vance Byrd program is a ticket that can help lead the path for my career. It can utilize what I’ve learned simply in the classroom and expand it into opportunities I’ve never, and possibly would never, experience if not for this program.”

Ideally, in 10 years Sydney would like to help produce or develop her own television show, something directed towards a general family audience yet intriguing enough to push past the fact it’s a “family friendly show”.

“Since I was a little girl, film and the idea of not just being behind the camera but being able to entertain and have others be entertained by my creations has been my pursuing factor as to why I chose this career”, she said.
