In conversation with... Stacey Dooley
Akshay Gajjar is an Economics student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with a passion for business and entertainment. He said: “I want to tell stories. I want to take audiences to places they’ve never been before and introduce them to people they’ve never met.”
A William F. Sharpe Fellow, he combines academic excellence with real-world experience, advising Sony Pictures on creative marketing campaigns for film releases. He has driven consulting projects that increased start-up user engagement and managed the production and distribution of independent films.
“I know the program will introduce me to likeminded creatives who are not only talented, but also genuine humans. I’m sure there’s so much I can learn from them, and I hope they can learn something from me as well”, he said.
Akshay is also an accomplished musician, with over 50 live performances, and an actor whose work has reached global audiences. Driven by his desire to connect creativity with business strategy, he is eager to grow in the entertainment industry, leveraging his diverse skills and network to make a lasting impact.
