Paola Guzmán was born and raised in El Salvador and currently lives in Los Angeles, California where is studying Film at Los Angeles Valley College. Paola said: “Through this mentorship program, I will have the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the industry, get priceless insights, and create lasting relationships that will support my professional development as a filmmaker.”

It is Paola’s dream to one day become a Sound Mixer. They view sound as an essential part of storytelling that helps audiences immerse themselves in cinematic experiences. Paola has already started their sound mixing and filmmaking journey having won the Audience Choice Award for their first film at the LAVC Student Showcase. “With an insatiable love for film, I’m focused on developing my skills in sound mixing for cinema, with the goal of adding unique perspectives to the world of storytelling”, they said.

A filmmaking hero of Paola’s would be writer/director Christopher Nolan. Paola admires the way he carefully constructs profound narratives while also pushing the boundaries of storytelling with his use of practical effects and immersive filmmaking.
