Tim Angel OBE served as BAFTA Chairman from 1997 to 2000. During his tenure he oversaw a number of major changes at the Academy including: the separation of the film and television awards ceremonies, moving the date of the Film Awards before the Oscars, introducing public voting, winning major sponsorship deals and securing the organisation’s financial future.
Angel is Chairman of Angels Costumes, the world’s longest-established and largest professional costume house, providing costumes for film, television, theatre, photo shoots, advertisements and music videos. In 2016 Angels received the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award at the EE British Academy Film Awards.
