On 26 April we hosted a special Audience with Sian Grigg, award-winning make up artist (The Revenant, Suffragette, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) in partnership with Wales Screen and hosted at Cardiff Metropolitan University's School of Art and Design as part of the Diffusion Festival.
On 17 January in Pontio, Bangor we hosted a special screening of new BBC comedy drama Pitching In with partners BBC Cymru Wales, LA Productions and Wales Screen. The screening was followed by a Q&A with actors Melanie Walters and Larry Lamb in the company of broadcaster Lisa Gwilym.
On Friday 21 September we hosted a special Audience with Rhys Ifans, where the actor discussed his career to date with broadcaster Lisa Gwilym. The evening was part of celebrations to open two new cinemas at Galeri, Caernarfon and was coordinated in partnership with Into Film Cymru.
On Wednesday 5 September 2018, our members were invited to the world premiere of Bad Wolf Productions and SKY One's brand new TV series - A Discovery of Witches. The screening was followed by a Q&A with lead cast Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode plus Deborah Harkness (author of the book and executive producer), Jayne Tranter (executive producer) and Kate Brooke (screenplay writer).
Following the success of the Sinemaes tepee at the National Eisteddfod, BAFTA Cymru and partners Film Hub Wales, Into Film Cymru and the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales joined together to create a special programme to offer free events for visitors to the Vale of Glamorgan to engage in a celebration of Welsh film and those with a sea and South Wales theme.
On 17 July, we hosted an Audience with Lynwen Brennan, Welsh born General Manager of Lucasfilm. We hosted a drinks reception with Wales Screen and a Q&A then followed between Lynwen and actor, writer, producer Celyn Jones.
