In light of BAFTA's recent Awards ceremonies review, there will be no ceremony in Scotland this autumn. A new and improved ceremony will take place in autumn 2011.

BAFTA Scotland Awards Logo (588 x 173)BAFTA has recently undertaken a review of all of its Awards ceremonies, exploring each aspect in detail to ensure greater consistency and pinpoint improvements for the future.

One of the key decisions arising from the review was that all of our ceremonies should adopt consistent categories and criteria, whilst preserving and maintaining their distinct identity and purpose.

In order to fully develop our new criteria and ensure that we deliver the best Awards we possibly can, we will not host an Awards ceremony in Scotland this autumn.

Work has already begun on a fantastic new ceremony to take place in autumn 2011; this ceremony will cover work made over a two-year period, and will celebrate excellence in film, television and video games produced in Scotland. The Call for Entries will be around June 2011.

The New Talent Awards, which celebrate new talent in Scotland, will be held in spring 2011 as usual; look out for the call for entries later this year.

In the meantime we are organising an exciting range of industry events for members this autumn/winter so please check back here regularly for updates and booking information.

We also have opportunities for new members in Scotland. If you work in the industry and would like to become a member, please view the members pages of this website or contact Sam Ferguson on 0141 302 1770.
