A British producer and director who made a host of sitcom classics including Last of the Summer Wine (1976-1983), Open All Hours (1976-1985), Butterflies (1980-1983) and May to December (1989-1990), Lotterby was recognised with a BAFTA Special Award in 2007. He received 12 BAFTA nominations in total, winning twice for Porridge (1974-1977) and once each for Going Straight (1978) and Yes, Minister (1980).
