Sir David Nicolas CBE

A British journalist, editor and producer, who served in various capacities at ITN, ITV’s news provider, over a career spanning three decades, including as editor, producer, chief executive and chair. He left to join Channel 4 as director (1992-1997) and chair of Sports News TV (1996-2003). He won a BAFTA in 1967 for the ITV special Home is the Sailor, and was nominated twice more, in 1970, for the Moon landing coverage and in 1987 for News at 10’s Coverage of the American Bombing Raid on Libya. He also won a BAFTA Cymru award for The M50 Murder: An Unsafe Conviction in 1994. He was given a CBE in 1982 and knighted in 1989.
