A Mexican actor, writer and comedian known as ‘Chesperito’, Bolaños began writing for film, television and radio in the 1950s. When later writing for his own shows he developed his popular characters, the superhero parody El Chapulin Colorado (1972-1978), and the orphan El Chavo del Ocho (1972-1978).
