An American producer who was behind a string of American classics with his partner Irwin Winkler, Chartoff’s first credit was Point Blank (1967). He received Oscar nominations for Raging Bull (1980), The Right Stuff (1983), and won an Oscar for Rocky (1976), going on to produce a further six films featuring the character (1979-2015).
