A British actor whose career began on stage at the Watford Palace Theatre, York later joined both The National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. On screen he appeared in the likes of The Professionals (1983) and Eastenders (1999), and he made one of his final appearances in the Oscar-winning short film The Silent Child (2017).
