The man considered by many to be the pre-eminent composer of Indian film music, Naushad entered the industry in 1937, going on to produce many great compositions during the heyday of Bombay cinema. Key film credits include Rattan (1944), Baiju Bawra (1952), Mother India (1957), Mughal-E-Azam (1960) and Pakeezah (1967).
