An Iranian writer who met Martin Scorsese studying film at New York University in the 1960s, Martin collaborated with the director on Mean Streets (1973), New York, New York (1973), The Last Waltz (1978) and Raging Bull (1980). His other work included Revenge Is My Destiny (1971), Valentino (1977) and The Cut (2014).
