Irving Gertz

19 May 1915 to 14 November 2008

A composer in demand for Hollywood B-movies from the 1940s on, Gertz achieved particular success with breakout hits It Came From Outer Space (1953) and The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957). His work covered diverse genres including sci-fi, westerns and classical composition, and later included popular television series of the 1960s.
